Day 1April 18, 2023 Arrival at East Timor Island of Indonesia (B)

Arrive in Leste (East Timor) through Denpasar, Bali Island of Indonesia.
Pick up by our guide, then transfer to hotel
Timor Leste was once as part of Indonesia, separated from Indonesia in 2002. Overnight in Dili.

Day 2April 19, 2023: Dilli-Balibo-Dilli (B, D)

Today, we will have our day of sightseeing in Timor Leste. Tiomor Leste lies on the eastern part of the big Timor Island. The west part belongs to Indonesia, while the east part is belonging to Timor Leste. Today, we head west to Balibo town, we will be driving along the north coast of the island. On the way to Balibo, we will make a stop at Ai Pelo Prison, an old prison dating back to late nineteen century, during the Portuguese occupation time on Timor Leste. The construction of this old, ruined prison begun on 1889. Two other buildings were constructed on 1914 to receive some prisoners from some Macau which was overcrowded on that time. This prison complex was accommodating both common criminal and political prisoners and was deactivated on 1939. The name of Ai Pelo comes from the local language, Tocodede Language which means bitter water. From the ruin of this prison, we head to Liquisa for lunch. Finally, we head to Balibo. Balibo is app 10 km from the border between Indonesia and Timor Leste. During the Self Determination Vote which was held on 1999, more than 60% of this town were destructed by the massive violence between the contra and the supporter of Timor Leste freedom. This town also being the location of the five journalists from Australia who were killed in 1975during the clashes of the domestic war. Overnight in Dili

Day 3 April 20, 2023 : Dilli Solar Eclipse viewing day (B, L, D)

After a relaxed breakfast, get ready for the journey to your unique eclipse-viewing site in Baucau, where you’ll will enjoy a cocktail while standing in the moons shadow and observing the total Solar Eclipse. This evening we will celebrate great eclipse in our hotel followed by dinner. Overnight in Dili.

Day 4April 21, 2023 Liquisa-Dilli-Fly to Bali (B, D)

Early in the morning, we proceed to Aileu (app 3 hr drive). Aielu is app 47 km to the south from Dilli Town. Aileu highland includes very steep forested ridges, some with lush tropical vegetation and others dry and rocky, covered in sparse eucalyptus trees and grasses. There are some beautiful rice paddy field run along the river valleys between the steep slopes making a colorful contrast with the mountain ranges behind. In Portuguese Timor, the city was known as Vila General Carmona, in the honor of the Portuguese dictator António Óscar Carmona, but after World War II it was renamed. Aileu means “bent tree” in Mamba Language. Between 1942 and 1945, the Japanese occupied Portuguese Timor. On August 31, 1942, the town was invaded by Colunas Negras, the Timorese allies of the Japanese invaders. Five Portuguese soldiers, as well as several civil servants and missionaries were killed. A memorial in Aileu commemorates the massacre today. Then, we head back to Dilli, fly back to Denpasar at 14:35 – 15:40. Overnight in Denpasar.

Day 5April 22, 2023: Rest Time-Kecak Dance Tour (B, L, D)

Free time at your own leisure to enjoy the white sandy beach. In the afternoon around 14.00 you will be picked up and drive to Uluwatu Temple situated about 70 m on the cliff overlooking the bay. From there watch the rough seas of the Indian ocean rush forward, hitting the rocks beneath the cliff, and in the background. We will proceed to enjoy the Traditional Kecak Dance, a dramatic performance lasting about 45 minutes, where 25-50 dancers chant “cak” and throw up their arms, depicting a battle from the Ramayana where monkeys help Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana. The dance will be performed on an open stage on a cliff in Uluwatu Temple complex, and in the background, a beautiful sunset color the sky orange as it slowly disappears away, replaced by the moon at night. Proceed to the famous Jimbaran Beach for having romantic dinner (on personal expenses) right on the beach sand of Jimbaran Beach. Taste the grilled fish on the sand of an open-air beachfront café and enrich your dining experience with one not usually available at 5-star hotels. Overnight in Denpasar.

Day 6April 23, 2023: Bali Touring-Ubud and Taman Ayun (B, L, D)

We start the day with a drive to Batubulan village to see the famous Barong and Keris dance performances. This is followed by a visit to Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave), a Hindu meditation center dating back to the 11th Century. Next, we visit Mengwi the 18th-century Royal Water Temple of Pura Taman Ayun, which is part of the Cultural Landscape of Bali Province: the Subak System as a Manifestation of the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the largest and most impressive architectural edifice of its type on the island. Our tour ends at Kedaton, the Monkey Forest. Balance of the day is free to explore Ubud’s many interesting sites. Overnight in Denpasar.

Day 7April 24, 2023: Ubud-Kintaman Highland – Fly to Jogjakarta (B, L, D)

Today, we head to Tampak Siring to visit the holy spring water temple of Tirta Empul followed by Kintamani to enjoy the amazing panoramic views of Lake Batur, Mt. Batur and Mr. Agung. Throughout our tour we see rice terraces which run through Subak, the cooperative social system that controls the water. Subak has shaped the landscape over the past thousand years and are an integral part of religious life. Water from springs and canals flows through the temples and out onto the rice paddy fields. Water temples are the focus of a cooperative management of water resource by a group of subaks. Since the 11th century the water temple networks have managed the ecology of rice terraces at the scale of whole watersheds. Afternoon we proceed to Besakih Temple, the largest holiest site in Bali and home to the island’s Mother Temple, located on the slopes of Mount Agung. The temple is comprised of 3 main complexes dedicated to the Hindu Trinity. It was built during the late 8th century AD.
From Besakih highland, we proceed to the airport for your flight to Jogjakarta by evening flight. Overnight in Jogjakarta.

Day 8April 25, 2023: Borobodur-Jojakarta-Fly to Jakarata (B, L, D)

Before the sunrise, we will visit the famous Borobudur temple. This huge Buddhist pyramid is a Buddhism’s largest shrine in Indonesia, built in the 9th century. Located north west of Jogyakarta, Borobudur was completed in the second half of the ninth century. Borobudur was unknown and neglected for almost a thousand years, covered under thick layers of volcanic ash. From a far Borobudur looks like a huge but ordinary stone construction. But from nearby we can see that it consists of hundreds of wonderfully detailed statues and sculptures, representing Buddhist Teachings mixed with images of Javanese life of a thousand years ago. Back to the hotel for breakfast. Check out from the hotel, then we head to the town of Jogjakarta.
Our tour of this historical city starts with a visit to the King Palace located in the city center. The palace was the center of the government of Mataram Islam kingdom and is now a center of the Javanese art and culture. Then we take you to witness how the locals make their wonderful batik and the craftsmen at work in a silver handicraft factory. In the afternoon, we proceed to visit the stunning Prambanan Temple, one of the most beautiful Hindu temples in Indonesia. The local people also call the temple as the Roro Jonggrang, meaning the temple of the slender virgin. According to the local belief, the temple was a beautiful virgin, who was cursed after ignoring her promise. Fly to Jakarta in the evening. Overnight in Jakarata.

Day 9April 26, 2023: Jakarta City Tour (B, L, D)

At the appropriate time, we pick you up at the hotel, then proceed to Indonesia Miniature Park (TMII). This Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park (The 100-hectare cultural center show the entire archipelago in miniature. It is a true a reflection of the national motto Bhineka Tunggal Ika or Unity in Diversity. We will pay visit to several pavilions in this park, among them are the West Sumatra Pavilion, South Sulawesi, and Papua. On each of these pavilions, you may have a good chance to comprehend the local life art, dignity, and culture without having to come in person to their home. From this culture park, you will have personal lunch at the local restaurant nearby. Then proceed to National Monument, a monument raising up to 132 m to commemorate the struggle for Indonesian independence. We will take you to the diorama on the base / ground floor of the monument. The next destination is the Jakarta History Museum (also called as Fatahillah Musuem) on old Jakarta Town. From the museum, we head to the old historical harbor. Sunda Kalapa harbor with the huge pinishi vessel harboring. Sunda Kalapa is one of the very old (dating back to 15th century), but still functioning sea harbor in Java. Huge size of wooden boat coming from various islands harboring here. They took mainly wood from outside, and take industrial product from Java. Many people worked on such huge wooden boat, they take the heavy load on their shoulder, walk along a single log which is laid on from the boat to the jetty. Body balance is essential as the single log is keep swinging up and down when peoples walking through. Luggage uploading and downloading is a daily activity here.
Back to hotel in the afternoon. Overnight in Jakarata.
