Itinerary

Day 1October 30th - Arrive at Nairobi

On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met and transferred to the Ole-Sereni hotel.

Day 2October 31st - Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park

Pick up from Ole Sereni hotel after breakfast and depart Nairobi in the early morning and drive down the Escarpment to the floor of the Great Rift Valley, to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch at the Sarova lion hill lodge.

The park covers 180 sq km and is home to warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks, and the occasional leopard. The park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here. Overnight at a lodge camp.

Day 3November 1st - Masai Mara

We head south to Narok; towards the expansive Masai Mara Reserve. We stop for lunch at the Keekorok lodge followed by an afternoon game drive to experience the Mara Magic, returning for a sun downer and dinner in the evening.

Wherever you go in the Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest, elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal as well as cheetahs and leopards which are harder to spot.

Day 4November 2nd - Masai Mara

November 3rd – Nairobi – Lake Turkana

Day 5November 3rd - Nairobi - Lake Turkana

After breakfast board your private Cessna C208 aircraft and fly for about two hours to get to Allia Bay, Sibiloi National Park, Lake Turkana.

We will get there in time to settle into your simple camp before lunch time. After lunch we will drive you to the chosen eclipse viewing site so that you have time to set up your equipment.

The partial eclipse will start at 16:25 local time.

The total eclipse will be at 17:25 local time.

The partial eclipse ends at 18.27 local time.

After sunset and the end of the eclipse we will drive back to camp for a celebration dinner. The camp will be simple but comfortable. There will be stand up tents that will be used by two people. Comfortable mattresses on the floor and good bedding will be provided. The tents will be well lit. There will be a simple pit latrine and shower shared by every two tents. There will be Security Guards.

Day 6November 4th - Sibiloi National Park - Nairobi

We will have breakfast at sunrise before getting aboard the flight down to Nairobi. If it is cool enough we might stay at low altitude, as there is the most stunning scenery as you fly south along the Great Rift Valley.
Arrive in Nairobi in time for lunch. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Nairobi.

Day 7November 5th - Departure from Nairobi

Transfer to Nairobi Airport for your flight.
